An airport has opened in Gelendzhik

The famous Krasnodar Territory resort has now its own airport!


For Novorossiysk Rally Russia it has a great importance for it is situated in only 30 km from Novorossiysk, while the nearest airports are in 100 km (Anapa) and 170 km (Krasnodar).

 

 

 

 

June 5, 2010 the official opening of Gelendzhik airport took place.


Gelendzhik airport accepts airplanes of the leading airline companies (Aeroflot, STC Russia, Ural Airlines, UTair, Gazpromavia, Atlant Soyuz Airlines). In summer 57 flights a week are planned (7-8 a day). Currently, one may fly to Gelendzhik from Moscow, Saint-Petersburg and Novosibirsk. The opening of the other key destinations (Surgut, Nizhnevartovsk, Tyuman, Ekaterinburg) is being prepared.


Gelendzhik airport has a 3100 m air strip and accepts YAK-42, TU-134, TU-154, B-737 (and its modifications), B-757-200, A-319, A-320 and lighter aircrafts. Today the passenger capacity of the airport is 140 passengers per hour.


The opening of the international terminal is questionable.
